“Art empowers people by transforming lives. Art can bring awareness to social issues and foster a sense of acceptance — bringing people together regardless of background. Art helps us to understand the world and has the ability to influence entire communities, movements and the Universal frequency.”

As a compassionate and resilient artist with a rich background shaped by both challenging and uplifting experiences, I have navigated the complexities of adolescence while facing bullying and trauma. My journey began at NationHouse (1978 - 1991), an African-centered school that nurtured my cultural identity and provided a supportive environment, despite the difficulties I encountered.
Through my participation in cultural events such as Kwanzaa (1970s - 2016) and mentorship from inspiring instructors, I have developed a deep appreciation for my heritage. I believe in the power of art to heal and inspire, and I am dedicated to using my artistic voice to empower others.
As I transitioned into high school and college, I channeled my emotions into visual art, showcasing my work at prestigious galleries in New York City (1992 - 1993) and participating in notable competitions. My diverse experiences have equipped me with a unique perspective and a passion for creating art that resonates with the complexities of identity and resilience.
I remain dedicated to using my artistic voice to empower others.
