Contrast in Motion

Prior to the development of Contrast in Motion, I sought to gather comprehensive information regarding the application I intended to utilize. This knowledge significantly contributes to the overall quality and effectiveness of the final product. The title is based on real life scenarios that occur in the workplace.

“Contrast effect, or contrast bias, is a type of unconscious bias that can occur in the workplace when comparing one person or thing to another instead of assessing them individually. This bias can distort perceptions and assessments, making some people appear better or worse than they are.”

Contrast in Motion. Digital art created on canvas. August 9, 2024. Afrika Abney

Contrast in Motion captures dynamic movement through abstract lines.

This piece is a digital artwork crafted with the software Medibang, which was released on June 26, 2015 and involved the use of an oil digital brush. Different shades of red to depict boldness, passion, resilience, and ambition. Varying thickness of the brushstrokes—ranging from bold, sweeping lines to delicate, intricate details—symbolizes the complexities of motion and emotion.

It reflects a deep understanding of how ambition, passion, and resilience manifest in the workplace, emphasizing their significance in driving individual and organizational success.

“Ambition in the workplace is a strong desire to achieve something, and it can manifest in many ways.”

“Boldness at work can be defined as taking action, speaking up, or speaking out despite risks. Being bold is just: doing something that is important. something that will make a difference.”

“Passion in the workplace is a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for what you do, and it can be a key ingredient that fills people with purpose and meaning. It can be the difference between doing a job and getting it done well, and it can benefit both individual employees and the organization as a whole.”

“Resilience in the workplace is the ability to recover from and adapt to stressful situations and workplace trauma. It involves maintaining psychological well-being, even in the face of adversity, and being able to "bounce back" from difficult experiences.”
