Routine of Colors

Routine of Colors. Digital art created on canvas. August 13, 2024. Afrika Abney

In the creation of my digital abstract painting titled Routine of Colors, I draw upon a palette of colors that frequently appear in my artwork, including vibrant shades like red, blue, white, yellow, yellow-green, and purple. Each hue plays a significant role in expressing the emotions and themes I wish to convey, allowing me to explore the interplay of color and form in a unique digital landscape. This piece serves as a reflection of my artistic journey, where these colors not only represent my aesthetic preferences but also embody the essence of my creative spirit.

My routine is meticulously crafted around my love for digital art, where I engage with various software tools to transform my imaginative ideas into tangible creations. This process is not merely about the act of painting; it involves a deep dive into research that fuels my inspiration and broadens my artistic horizons. The gentle sounds of nature that drift through my workspace create a serene atmosphere, enabling me to concentrate fully on my projects and immerse myself in the creative flow without the distractions of the outside world.

With a packed schedule that leaves little room for distractions, I find myself deeply involved in numerous artistic endeavors, each requiring my full attention and innovative thinking. The services I provide demand a considerable investment of time and dedication, and I take immense pride in the quality of my work. As I navigate through my busy day, I extend my wishes for your safety and well-being, hoping that you too find fulfillment and tranquility in your pursuits. May your day be enriched with positivity and purpose, mirroring the creativity and meaningful engagement I strive to cultivate in my own life.

Spectrum of Imagination

I would like to share insights regarding a selection of my artwork, which I developed using a painting application that was launched in November 1985. At that time, I was just nine years old and attending NationHouse, a private school with a focus on African-centered education. This early exposure to a creative environment played a significant role in shaping my artistic journey. It is important to note that my foray into the realm of digital art did not commence until several years after my initial experiences with traditional forms of creativity. The painting application, while groundbreaking for its time, was not the catalyst for my digital artistry; rather, it served as an early introduction to the possibilities of art in a digital format. My artistic development evolved gradually, influenced by various mediums and techniques over the years. Reflecting on my artistic evolution, I recognize that the foundation laid during my formative years at NationHouse has been instrumental in m...

Color of my skin

"I've been forty years discovering that the queen of all colors is black!” - Pierre-Auguste Renoir, French  I mpressionist painter, 1841-1919   “I have learned to master the art of being different and to prove that it has nothing to do with the color of my skin. Ms. Eloise Greenfield

I met Ms. Eloise Greenfield when I was a student.    " Children’s author Ms. Eloise Greenfield was born in Parmele, North Carolina, and raised in Washington, DC. She attended Miner Teachers’ College (now the University of the District of Columbia) and went on to work as a clerk in the US Patent Office. The monotony of the job drove her to experiment with making up rhymes, and eventually Greenfield began writing poetry in earnest. Her first published poem appeared in the Hartford Times in 1962. Since then, Greenfield has published more than 40 books for children, including works of poetry, biography, picture books, and chapter books. Her work is widely praised for its depiction of African American experience, particularly family life; Greenfield has said she began writing for children after looking in vain for books for her own children that reflected their life. ."   She recently passed.  https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/eloise-greenfiel...

FATHERLESS DAUGHTER SYNDROME

"Since childhood, fathers have a critical impact on their daughters’ lives as they are both their first guides to the outside world and their first reflections of themselves, symbol of recognition of their own value. A healthy and uninterrupted relationship between a father and a daughter greatly helps to create a positive self-image and therefore will have a positive influence on her aspirations and relationships. When this relationship is suddenly broken for some reason, the daughter’s cycle of identity development is also interrupted. Adolescence and preadolescence are critical times where young women build themselves: their body change, they make a transition from girls to young women, and in this transition, the father’s role is important. " - Source: https://medium.com/@andreabomo/why-we-should-all-care-about-the-fatherless-daughter-syndrome-5fe527e22cc5 At the age of 5, I inherited some of the traits from father absence and abandonment. At the age of 13...
