Private education vs public education

My private education was spent at NationHouse from 1978 - 1991.

There seems to be a vast comparison between private education vs public education. I believe that how many times that I explain my education upbringing, some people will still draw conclusions and have their own beliefs. Today's educational system has worsen in terms of discrimination, racism, and inclusion.

Throughout my education, the only courses that I believe were crucial for me based on the experiences that I encountered beginning my preschool years were the arts. If education does not include the arts, I believe the educational system is incomplete for child development.

"Education is a purposeful activity directed at achieving certain aims, such as transmitting knowledge or fostering skills and character traits.

Private schools have reputations for maintaining high standards for discipline and respect. Lower staff-to-student ratios allow for more effective observation and control of school grounds. The strong sense of community found in private schools also discourages dangerous behavior.
Private schools benefit students by fostering academic excellence and high achievement, educating the whole child within a values-based setting, and preparing youngsters for success in life.

The purpose of public education was to train students to become skilled workers while teaching them the traditional core academic disciplines. The supporters of universal public education believed it would create better citizens and a culturally uniform American society."

My public education was spent at BMHS from 1991 - 1993.

March is Women's History Month - Ms. Georgette S. Powell In 1999, I had the opportunity to participate in art exhibit that took place at the Children's National Medical Center and met Ms. Georgette S. Powell. "Georgette Seabrook Powell was born in Charleston, SC in 1916 and raised in New York City. After graduating from The Cooper Union School of Art, she became active in the Harlem Arts Workshop. Powell was inspired by Augusta Savage (A’25), a young sculptor and the newly appointed director of the Harlem Arts Workshop. Powell learned from the dedication Savage gave to teaching arts in the Harlem community, and teaching became a cornerstone in her life as well. Powell was employed by the WPA, along with a team of artists, to create a series of murals for the Harlem Hospital Art Project. I find great satisfaction in engaging in activities that I am passionate about. My work revolves around the creation of digital art, which not only allows me to express my creativity but also brings joy to my professional life. Additionally, I take pride in offering my services to small businesses and nonprofit organizations, helping them to enhance their visual presence and communicate their messages effectively. As a self-employed consultant and independent contractor, I have the flexibility to pursue projects that resonate with my interests and values.
