Watercolor - Red

" You’re a passionate artist who always makes people feel like part of the group. You’re incredibly compassionate and usually take the role of the peacekeeper." I created this digital art abstract painting using different shades of red.  As July is World Watercolor Month, I rarely use watercolor pencils and paint in my artwork. However, I do have experience in working with them both for various reasons.  Red represents life, love, hope and courage. Throughout one's life span, one can overcome hardships, challenges, and discrimination. This can be achieved by recognizing self- love, unconditional love, and love in personal relationships. All of this takes courage, hope, and determination. Without facing defeat and grief, one can not fully experience what life has to offer. Sometimes, a person can experience feelings of unwanted, unloved, grief, or rejection. Thus causing them to protect their heart.

Importance of checking emails

"Checking your email regularly is essential for maintaining professionalism and upholding your reputation. Promptly responding to emails demonstrates your commitment to communication and professionalism. It also helps in building trust and credibility with your colleagues, clients, and business partners." As a consultant, I have provided email marketing as one of my services for many of my past clients. If you wish to secure your service, you must reply back to the email.  It is no longer the past and if you are just now checking emails regarding past events, please refrain.

Evaluating My Own Art

Ihave been evaluating my own art more frequently since June 3, 2024.  When I have evaluating my own art, I always ask myself questions because afterall, I know what is my best art and I know what art will sell because I have sold some of my art in the past.  Some of the questions that I have asked myself are below: Why do you think I included these elements? What do you think am I trying to convey? For example, in 2022, I created numerous abstract collages on canvas and some of them I recently have thrown away because the colors were too overpowering or the end result after all of the materials dried appeared darker than usual.  I have thrown away the clothes shown in the above photos as paint stained the materials and was not able to come out of the clothing. I do not like wearing aprons. I usually wear regular clothes.

Kuumba Suras/The Figures of Africa

When I was working at the Phillips Collection, I exhibited Kuumba Suras/The Figures of Africa in 2000. •"James McLaugin Memorial Staff Show." Phillips Collection, Washington, DC. 2000 GALLERY ASSISTANT .  Phillips Collection. 2000.  Responsible for monitoring and keeping artwork safe during gallery hours.   I participated in the  James McLaugin Memorial Staff Show which took place at the Phillips Collection in 2000. This was an interesting opportunity for me because I not only participated in the art exhibit, but was also a staff member at the Phillips in 2000. "For more than 25 years, The Phillips Collection has held a staff show to feature the works of artists employed at the museum. In 1984, the staff show was endowed by the family of James McLaughlin, an accomplished still-life painter who worked at the museum for 50 years. In 1932, McLaughlin began his association with Duncan Phillips as a student at the Phillips Gallery Art School. Until his death in 198...

Video Branding

"Video branding is a marketing tool that allows a brand to communicate its identity and values through short videos.  Videos can help make a brand more memorable to its target audience and establish a unique identity.  Videos can help viewers connect emotionally with a brand's story and inspire them to take action." I have been using videos to brand myself and my work as a consultant for several years.   In 2023, I created many abstract paintings. The below video features some of the abstract paintings that I created.  youtube.com/@msafrikaabney vimeo.com/msafrikaabney

It is unfortunate that society has become blind sided. Swirling strokes of blue dominate the scene, interspersed with occasional bright splashes of yellow and red. The colors merge and flow together, creating a sense of dynamic movement and energy. Blue Lotus. Acrylic on Canvas. 9 * 12. April 6, 2023. What is the purpose of an consultant project?

I have no idea what you are talking because I have been doing extensive research, watching television shows, resting and working on my current work. For example, I have apprenticed with Mr. Marvin Sin and Mr. Kennedy while I was a student at NationHouse. "An apprenticeship is a face-to-face learning opportunity in which an experienced artist instructs a novice. This instruction addresses both the skills and techniques of an art form, as well as its meaning and use within the communities in which it is practiced." "For over 50 years, Mr. Marvin Sin has served the African-American community as an artist and cultural activist. Sin is one the finest leather artists and craftsmen of his generation. His creations are true works of art with each piece being one of a kind. His trademarked, "Art of Leather" designs blends the elements of drawing, carving and painting to render fine art imagery on finely crafted leather accessories." "Some consultants prefer an...

How I find work with a diverse background?

" With a retainer, clients pay a set amount each month in exchange for using your services as needed—perhaps for a set number of hours—rather than signing a contract for one specific project. Similar to a retainer, you may also consider offering monthly maintenance packages." Summer Blossoms. Acrylic on Canvas. 14 * 18. Flock of Feathers #1

Creative and passionate abstract artist with a deep-rooted fascination for avian life, as exemplified in the piece "Flock of Feathers." Inspired by childhood experiences of observing birds, I translate my love for nature into captivating acrylic paintings. This specific work, which reflects my thoughtful observation of feathers from various birds, was proudly donated to Esther Productions, Inc on August 13, 2022, demonstrating my commitment to sharing art with the community.
