Rainy Weather

Quote found on the Internet

The weather for today is characterized by the presence of rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms, creating a humid atmosphere throughout the day.

Rainy weather serves as a profound source of inspiration for my creative endeavors, particularly in the realm of digital art. The sound of raindrops tapping against the window creates a soothing backdrop that allows my imagination to roam freely. The ambiance of a rainy day fosters a unique atmosphere, encouraging me to explore a diverse palette of colors that reflect the mood and essence of the moment. Each droplet seems to whisper ideas, urging me to translate the beauty of the storm into vibrant digital compositions.

I have been located in Washington, DC for many years. Please stop spreading inaccurate information.

The job market in Washington, DC in 1992

“ In 1992, the job market in Washington, D.C. presented a complex landscape for African Americans, marked by both progress and persistent challenges. While the city's burgeoning government sector offered some opportunities, particularly in fields like social services and education, racial disparities remained deeply entrenched. African Americans often faced discriminatory hiring practices, limited access to higher-paying positions, and a concentration in lower-wage, service-oriented jobs. The legacy of segregation and systemic racism continued to impact employment prospects, leading to higher unemployment rates and a widening wealth gap compared to their white counterparts. However, the growing civil rights movement and increasing awareness of racial inequality fostered a climate of activism and advocacy, pushing for greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This period saw the rise of organizations and initiatives aimed at addressing these disparities, paving the way for...

Why I do not like the 4th of July!

I do not like the 4th of July because so many lives have been lost. So many people alarmed by the alarming loud sounds of Fireworks. So many people have been hurt simply by Fireworks. As for myself, year after year, I have become traumatized by Fireworks for various reasons. Yet, some people wonder why as a Black American, I do not like the 4th of July.  I do not like the 4th of July because there really is not anything to celebrate. Racism, corruption, brutality, hatred, discrimination and prejudice floods the streets and destroys society. You spend money on Fireworks to wish America, Happy Independence Day, and Birthday. Really? Is America really happy? The colors red, white, and blue are supposed to have a significant symbolization. Yet, to me, it symbolizes blood, disassociation, and anger.  “You have to find what sparks a light in you so that you in your own way can illuminate the world.”- Oprah Winfrey "Celebrate the little things." – Author Unknown   "Our fl...

Working in Museums/Galleries

I had the opportunity to work in many museums and art galleries in the past. Some of them include: The New Harlem Gallery (1992-1993) and the Phillips Collection (2000). Additionally, I provided services for the Anacostia Art Gallery and Boutique from 2010 – 2011 and I have exhibited my artwork  widely throughout the East Coast at such places as Emma Mae Gallery (Washington, DC), The New Harlem Gallery (New York City, New York), Wisteria ArtSpace (New York City, New York), Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), Market 5 Gallery (Washington, DC), and The Phillips Collection (Washington, DC). I believe that working in a museum and gallery as a professional visual artist is both inspirational and frustrating. “Most museum people will tell you that they love their jobs. Some especially enjoy working with the public. They enjoy giving programs, explaining exhibits, and answering questions. ... Working across the street at a company would not give them the respect and place wit...

FATHERLESS DAUGHTER SYNDROME

"Since childhood, fathers have a critical impact on their daughters’ lives as they are both their first guides to the outside world and their first reflections of themselves, symbol of recognition of their own value. A healthy and uninterrupted relationship between a father and a daughter greatly helps to create a positive self-image and therefore will have a positive influence on her aspirations and relationships. When this relationship is suddenly broken for some reason, the daughter’s cycle of identity development is also interrupted. Adolescence and preadolescence are critical times where young women build themselves: their body change, they make a transition from girls to young women, and in this transition, the father’s role is important. Importance of Empathy

Quote found on the Internet “Empathy plays a crucial role in fostering meaningful connections between individuals, as it allows one to understand and share the feelings of others. This emotional intelligence not only enhances personal relationships but also contributes to a more harmonious social environment. When individuals practice empathy, they are better equipped to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics, leading to improved communication and reduced conflict. In a world marked by diversity and differing perspectives, the ability to empathize with others fosters understanding and compassion. This understanding is critical in combating prejudice and discrimination, as it encourages indi...
