Janice Ferebee, MSW, is an internationally recognized speaker, author, global female empowerment expert, and elected official, with a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2). She is the founder & Chief Woman Warrior (CWW) of Ferebee Enterprises International, LLC, a global female empowerment social enterprise.  With over 40 years' expertise, Janice has the distinction of being recognized by BET Teen Summit, The Oprah Winfrey Show and ESSENCE Magazine, for her award-winning GOT IT GOIN' ON® (GIGO) empowerment brand and program for girls of color, and she was the first African American Models Editor for Seventeen Magazine (over 40 years ago). She is a two-time Stage 2B fallopian tube cancer survivor blessed with over 30 years in long-term recovery from drug and alcohol use.  She has turned her unique personal and professional life experiences into tools to help educators, parents, practitioners and leaders of girl-serving organizations, to empower girls and young women of color, to build confidence and cultural pride, develop personal action plans, and create blueprints for their lives.

Djimo Kouyate was from the Malinké tribe, a sub-group of the Mandingo people. Born in Tambacounda, Senegal, he was from a distinguished family of griots who trace their ancestry back to the thirteenth century. A master kora player and a fine singer and dancer, Djimo also played a variety of other instruments including balafon (wooden xylophone), drums, and other string instruments. He worked with the Senegalese National Ballet as a singer and dancer since 1960, and was a founding member of the National Instrumental Ensemble of Senegal."

Background and Services

Since 2016, I have not provided any dance performance services. Additionally, I have not engaged in providing complimentary services for an extended period. My involvement in educational services came to an end in 2018, and I have since moved away from that aspect of my work entirely. It is crucial for me to maintain a high level of respect and accuracy in my professional endeavors, particularly as I have dedicated considerable time to branding, creating digital art, and delivering my services. While my past experiences are no longer the primary focus of my career, it is essential to recognize the breadth of my background. My journey has been shaped by a variety of roles and responsibilities that have contributed to my overall diverse array of expertise.
